COMBINED IUU VESSEL LIST

The vessel transited the BIOT at 2⁰40’S, 69⁰30E - 4⁰10’S, 75⁰30’E, carrying 3 tonnes of yellowfin and 5 tonnes of bigeye on September 15th-17th 2009. The vessel was not licensed by IOTC at the time. In May 2012, the vessel was denied off-loading in Mauritius because it was observed that the catch of albacore on-board amounted to 125 tonnes. Based on the duration of the fishing trip of the vessel, which was 19 days, the catch per day varied between 6 and 9 tonnes. This catch rate appears to be very high compared to the catch rate of other vessels using the same method of fishing on the same fishing ground (2-3 tonnes/day). It is not known where the catch was off-loaded.
