COMBINED IUU VESSEL LIST

This vessel was originally named POLESTAR and flagged to Panama under ownership of Sun Panama Shipping SA. Vessel ownership transferred to Unipak Shipping in 1994 and back to Sun Panama Shipping SA in 2004. This vessel was sighted transhipping with at least 8 IUU vessels in the NEAFC Regulatory Area on 9 June 2006 and 19 July 2006 by the Iceland Coast Guard and was subsequently included in the NEAFC IUU B list. Vessel was delisted on 29 October 2008. EJF observed this vessel docking at Las Palmas port on 2 separate occasions in August 2010. Vessel renamed to SEA STAR and reflagged to Kiribati in May 2011. Vessel operated as an authorised reefer in the WCPFC and IOTC regulatory areas before reflagging to Liberia, renaming to SEA STAR V and gaining authorisation to operate as a carrier vessel in the WCPFC and SPRFMO 2016 to 2020 and ICCAT 2019 to October 2021. Vessel is currently flagged to Panama and owned/operated by Habitat International Corporation. Last seen on AIS 21 February 2021 docked at the port of Mazatlán, Mexico.
