ARPUTHA MATHA (IND-TN-15-MM-8581) was observed fishing illegally without a licence within BIOT waters and has been inspected in BIOT waters twice in 2022: BIOT Fisheries Protection Officers first inspected the vessel on 6 April 2022 and boarded and inspected on 28 October 2022. The vessel did not submit a transit report prior to entry into BIOT waters and had no VMS present onboard. Species identified from hold inspections included IOTC managed species and Dog tooth Tuna (Gymnosarda unicolor). This vessel was IOTC IUU listed on 10 May 2023 whilst flagged to India and under ownership of SALBIN S/O CLEETUS.
