This vessel was inspected by BIOT authorities on 30 October 2021 in BIOT waters. The vessel was not on the current IOTC Record of Authorised Vessels and had no authorisation from its flag State to fish on the high seas at the time of inspection. The vessel was deemed to be fishing illegally without a licence within BIOT waters; the vessel had fishing gear in the water at the time of inspection. This vessels captain was requested to haul in its longline gear and whilst doing so BIOT authorities observed swordfish and sharks on the IUCN red list of threatened species in the vessel’s catch. Evidence suggests this vessel was operating within BIOT waters for at least 10 days. Sri Lanka has detained the vessel in port and a trial date for the owner was set for 4 June 2021. This vessel was included in the IOTC IUU list on 9 June 2021
