This vessel was originally Morocco flagged and owned/operated by Morocco based company Pescarif SA from 1973-2003 under the names ATALAYA DEL SUR, REDA IV AND ATALAYA. Elcon Leisure Ltd gained ownership of the vessel from 2003-2007 and transferred flag registry to the United Kingdom. Sources show this vessel was detained at Ullapool port, Scotland on the 17 August 2007 for technical reasons and released after 3 weeks. This vessel was soon after detained by the ITF and vessels owners were accused of human rights abuses and withholding wages by its Indonesian crew. Elcon Leisure, the vessel owner at the time of detention, paid $75,000 to ITF to repatriate the vessels crew. Vessel was flagged to Saint Kitts and Nevis at the time of fine. Panama Redfin Investments SA gained ownership of the vessel in October 2007. This vessel was included in the SEAFO IUU list on 18 March 2008 and soon after transferred flag to Panama and name to ALBORAN II. Vessel reported to have sunk near the Azores in December 2008.
