This vessel was originally flagged to Bolivia, owned by Sunhope Investment, and operated by Tunago Fishery Co Ltd under the name TUNAGO NO. 61. Vessel reflagged to Georgia, transferred ownership to Koko Fishery Ltd and renamed to KOKO in 2003 until April 2005. On 5 November 2004, this vessel was included in the CCAMLR IUU list for fishing inside the Convention Area without authorisation. This vessel renamed to SOUTH OCEAN, reflagged to Belize then China and transferred owner/operator to China National Fisheries Corporation whilst IUU listed. CCAMLR and SEAFO delisted this vessel on 7 November 2008. This vessel transferred to South Korea flag and South Korea owner/operator Insung Corporation in January 2010. Vessel name changed to MERIDIAN NO. 8 in 2014 and has been authorised to operate in the SEAFO Convention Area since April 2020. This vessel was last seen off the coast of Mar del Plata, Argentina on 21 February 2021.
