Evidence shows this vessel was flagged to Malaysia in 2007 and was deregistered in 2012 due to this vessel’s owner, Hoom Xiang Industries Sdn Bhd, filing for bankruptcy. The Department of Fisheries, Malaysia, terminated fishing gear and vessel licenses of this vessel on 12 December 2011. Sources indicate this vessel was included in the IOTC IUU list on 5 June 2014 for landing catch in Sri Lanka whilst stateless in 2012 and without IOTC authorisation to fish. This vessel also has ties to the Belize flag. HOOM XIANG 101, 103, 105 are believed to operate cooperatively.
