COMBINED IUU VESSEL LIST

This vessel held a Spain flag from 31 December 1979 to 01 February 2000. After a short period of time under an unknown flag, this vessel gained Falkland Islands flag, owner Prion Ltd and name MILA. In October 2005, this vessel transferred flag to Equatorial Guinea. Vessel ownership is unclear during this time with sources indicating Vidal Armadores S.A, Freiremar and Juan A Argibay Perez all having a degree of ownership for periods of 2005-2006. This vessel was included in the CCAMLR IUU list on 3 November 2006 for operating within the Convention Area without authorisation; whilst named PERSEVERANCE, flagged to Equatorial Guinea and under ownership of Mar de Neptuno SA. Sources indicate this vessel was converted from longline to gillnet in 2006. In February 2010, this vessel renamed to CHALLENGE, reflagged to Panama and transferred ownership to Advantage Company SA. This vessel’s continued existence is in doubt.
