This vessel has multiple compliance issues in its history, most compliance events involve other members of the INSUNG fleet and the company Insung Corp. This vessel was included in the CCAMLR IUU list on 5 November 2004 for fishing inside Divisions 58.4.3, 58.4.1 and 58.4.3b without authorisation. The vessel was a member of the “Alphabet boats” ” a group of illegal vessels involved in unauthorised toothfish fishing in the CCAMLR area. Vessel was later delisted on 7 November 2008 subject to sale of the vessel. In 2011 this vessel, IN SUNG NO. 7, overfished the quota in SSRU 5842 in CCAMLR by 339% and was given a US$ 1300 fine by Korea. In 2012, this vessel was found to be operating in the Southwest Atlantic on the border of Argentina and Falkland Islands EEZs and frequently visited the port of Montevideo. In 2014 it was caught illegally fishing in the Argentine EEZ, together with the IN SUNG 315. Due to this, the vessel was refused a catch certificate and repeatedly refused entry into ports around the world. Vessel eventually docked in Montevideo without a certificate and held South Korea flag and ownership of Insung Corp throughout all compliance events.
