A Japanese patrol vessel sighted this fishing vessel displaying the name LU RONG YUAN YU 197 in the Convention area at 41°11.3’N, 174°20.3’W on July 15, 2020. This vessel was fishing under the name of a legally authorized vessels which was not in the Convention Area and did not display an IRCS, consequently this vessel was conducting IUU fishing.
