This vessel was first included on the NPFC IUU List on 19 August 2018 for operating in the Convention Area without authorisation. A Japanese patrol sighted this fishing vessel operating in the Convention area at 39˚50.9'N, 147˚4.3'E on 21 July 2017. Photographs taken on a Japanese patrol show this vessel using the China flag and displaying the port of registry as Shidao. AIS information showed that the vessel name is LU RONG YUAN YU YUN 958. Vessel ownership is unknown. China removed this vessel from their official registry in 2018 in response to IUU activity, making the vessel stateless.
