Overview

Vessel detained in Phuket in late 2016 after calling in for repairs, claiming a Bolivian flag. Crew claimed that the vessel had caught yellowfin tuna in the IOTC area and transhipped catch at sea. Vessel reported to have been prosecuted by Thailand for offences related to falsification of documents, provision of fraudulent reports to authorities, employing crew without permits and human trafficking. Former name given by Thailand (HUNG SHENG NO. 166) matches the former name of Taiwanese flagged JING MAN NO. 168 and photos indicate these could be the same vessel. However, the vessel tracking under that name on AIS was in the Western Pacific when YUTUNA NO. 3 was detained in Thailand. Conclusion unclear.
