This vessel was included in the ICCAT IUU list on 17 February 2021 for harvesting tuna and tuna like species in the ICCAT Convention Area without authorisation. At the time of IUU listing, this vessel was named HALELUYA, owned by Colombia based Imanely SAS and was reportedly flying the flag of Tanzania. Sources show that the vessel had held provisional registration to Tanzania but was deleted from the registry on 27 June 2019. Tanzania also stated that the vessel was not granted an authorisation to fish while under the Tanzania flag. Hence, the vessel was stateless for an extended period of its operations. Sources indicate that it has since reflagged to Colombia. The owner is reported to be a Taiwanese national, however, the vessel doesn’t appear on the official list of foreign-flagged, Taiwan-owned vessels maintained by the Taiwan Fisheries Agency. In November 2019, sources reported that the vessel was berthed at Cartagena port, Colombia with eight tons of shark fins on board awaiting authorisation for export.
EU : suspects this vessel, without nationality, may be engaging in fishing activities in ICCAT Convention Area. Believed by Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) to be flagged or previously flagged to Tanzania (See Doc. COC-312/2020)
